Cabbage vada, without lentils, easy to prepare and tasty. Plain cabbage and nothing else.

Preparation

In a bowl, add 2 cups of finely chopped cabbage.

Mixing

Add 2 tbsp of chilli powder, 1 tsp ajwain, 1 tsp of chat masala and salt.
Adding Chat masala is optional.

Mix it thoroughly (use hands to mix).
Add 1/4 cup rice flour and mix again.

Add 1 cup of Besan and mix it thoroughly. Recommended not using water, which will make the batter fluidly.
The salt added earlier will release moisture (water) for the besan and rice flour to bond.

Add the finely chopped 2-3 green chilli, curry leaves and coriander leaves.
Mix it thoroughly.

Prepare small spherical shape (balls) from the batter, if you feel that mixture is not properly holding, you can add a little besan to it.

Hold the spherical shape batter on your palm and press the batter from the other hand, make a shape like this.
Heat the oil and drop the flat batter to oil, let it fry on medium flame so that it is fried from inside.
Take it out from oil when the colour changes to golden brown.

Spread the vada on tissue paper, so that excess oil is removed.

Enjoy the Cabbage vada with a hot tea or coffee.
