Today we will prepare Udupi style Timare chutney, an easy chutney recipe. Timare or Brahmi leaves have very good medicinal properties. The leaves are good for digestion. Easy to prepare timare chutney can be served with hot rice, dosa, rotti.

Clean the timare leaves and keep them aside.

In a pan, heat 2 tbsp of oil.

Add 1 tbsp of Urad dal, 1 tbsp of Channa dal, 8-9 red chillies, 1 green chilli (add more if required). Let the urad dal turn brown.

Add 1 tsp of hing.

Add the timare leaves and fry for 2 mins and switch off the flame.

Add 3/4 cup coconut.

Add half lemon size tamarind and let the mixture cool.

After mixture cools down, transfer it to mixer. Grind it to a fine paste, add 1/4 cup water while grinding.

Tasty timare chutney is ready to serve with dosa, chapathi, hot rice(wwith cooconut oil), akki roti!
